Aontacht Media would like to draw your attention to avenues to support both Ukrainian and Russian anti-war political prisoners.
Political prisoners under the Zelensky regime are being mistreated, according to detainee reports from inside the brutal Vinnytsia Colony No. 86 facility. The Association for the Defense of Political Prisoners and Human Rights, founded by brothers Mikhail and Alexander Kononovich, have compiled a detailed list of incidents which proves the systematic torture of political prisoners, including communists, anti-fascist, anti-imperialists and those who refuse to fight in the war against Russia.
The Zelensky regime, like the Putin regime, is forcibly conscripting members of the working class, Roma people and poorer Hungarians residing in Ukrainian territory, despite mass resistance to further participation in the war. A Ukrainian Marxist, Bogdan Syrotiuk, was recently sentenced to 15-years in prison for anti-war agitation, including sharing the writings of Lenin. His crime was alleged to be “treason”. In Russia, 5 Marxists were handed prison sentences between 16 to 22 years in December 2025 for allegedly plotting to overthrow the regime.

Their activities include paying for legal support, coordination of media work and dissemination of information, organizing fundraising and transfers, information support for families of political prisoners and conducting solidarity campaigns and drawing attention to injustice.
