An election pamphlet dubbed “cynical” has sparked backlash online.
Lord Mayor and Fine Gael TD Candidate Ray McAdam’s distributed election materials state that “electing a fourth Opposition TD gives Dublin Central no voice in Government”, “no power, no influence and no opportunity for delivery”, calling on the electorate to “not waste their votes”.

The news comes as a Dáil by-election is due to be held in Dublin Central on the 22nd of May 2026.
