A video circulating on social media shows the eviction of a woman, Nora, from a house on Ranelagh Road in Dublin, during a tense confrontation involving Dublin City Council enforcement officers and Gardaí.
In the footage, a local is seen assisting the woman, who states that the eviction is unlawful and insists the matter is “in the courts,” while officers attempt to force themselves in the door with Gardaí assistance.
At one point, a man identifying himself as Dublin City sheriff Joseph Burke warns the local that obstructing him in the course of his duty is a criminal offence.

The man is then informed that he is being arrested under Section 6 of the Public Order Act. The incident has since sparked widespread reaction online due to the rising number of evictions in Dublin, and the neoliberal economic policies of FF/FG to which this can be attributed. At the end of the video, it appears that the eviction was carried out, as the agents of the State are seen entering the property.
