Why Communists Must Oppose Digital ID And The EU’s Surveillance

In what is surely one of the worst examples of function creep since Regina Doherty’s public services card scandal involving Biometric templates, the HSE has shut down its physical medical card printing service “temporarily” citing a hack/data breach as its reasoning, instead suggesting that service users sign up to a digital version of the card online to receive a replacement or renewal. Putting aside the obvious flow of logic that would dictate a physical card would be infinitely more secure than a central database, one that has just been hacked allegedly, the decision to prevent renewals from being printed at all seems to be rooted more so in planned obsolescence or phasing out of the card rather than a sincere temporary protection measure. They do kind of admit this in the Digital Healthcare Roadmap for 2030.

The word temporary holds almost no value when used by a state department in a government Communiqué when you look at their recent use of the term. In fact it almost always signals impending doom. Six weeks to flatten the curve became 2 years of rolling lockdowns, lifted only when people surrendered their bodily autonomy. Temporary Accommodation for asylum seekers in housing blackspots that became multi-year contract renewals, revolving door turnover, multi-story expansions to hotels and whole swathes of new builds handed over to Approved Housing Bodies specialising in housing them. Oh yes, temporary is a dirty word these days and although some of you reading this will not like my examples, I ask you to focus on the pattern of how the EU rolls out its policies across the Union. A crisis, vague but alarming, leads to a temporary measure that never goes away or acts as a waypoint or anchor for the next phase. A means to an end.

The details surrounding this hack, or lack thereof, are troubling in their own right. The HSE has confirmed that the hack occurred within the external printing providers network and not their own, revealing the fact that card printing is outsourced but to who? I dare one of you to find out who because after a moderately deep search I can’t find a concrete answer. Who the hell is in charge of printing our medical cards and why? The machines for printing these cards cost in or around a thousand euros. Pocket change relative to the health budget of this country. Card printing is not an exhaustive, specialised skill or process so why the need to outsource this? It seems to me that the company charged with this task may itself be very controversial or might not even exist at all in real terms. Just some zombie on paper designed to die and take the physical card process with it. Either way, this is a crowbar under the privacy of Irish people forcing us to adopt the digital ID.

Using people who are mid treatment, threatening denial of service or even just alluding to that possibility when dealing with vulnerable groups is vile. Even someone without a current medical concern will have it in their own self interest to maintain an active medical card just in case. This is a big deal and amounts to fear based social engineering otherwise known as a “nudge”. This was deployed during covid through NPHET’s behavioral change sub unit and no doubt they have deployed these social engineers here to increase uptake of the Orwellian Digital ID. I witnessed an acute instance of this in action while providing advocacy to a methadone user who was being denied access to his treatment because of his vaccine status. Totally illegal and against HSE policy but yet as I stood there in a well known pharmacy here in Kilkenny, in a kind of mystery shopper capacity, my friend was denied his treatment right in front of me, until of course I piped up. A health service and indeed a government that has lost the run of itself will produce gross examples of overextension and skullduggery, committed by the lowly grunts who are trained to see vulnerability as leverage. That man in particular and people like him cannot afford to be turned away even once. This will almost guarantee Digital ID uptake in these cohorts. Relapse of addiction, or other medical condition is what is hanging over the heads of those who may have received a letter the likes of which I am about to show you.

In a letter received by a service user, the HSE tells the individual that their card issuer is “currently unable to print plastic cards”. This sounds like a jammed machine or delayed shipment of blank plastic cards etc doesn't it? An unpaid electric bill perhaps or maintenance/upgrade? No time frame is given but the user is told that this option is unavailable, kind of like the McFlurry machine McDonalds. Come back another time. In the letter above, which I have obtained a copy of from a person known to me, the language is geared towards assuring the recipient that access to healthcare will not be affected. “You do not need a plastic card to access services from your healthcare providers”, meaning that as long as you use the “HSE App”, a benign sounding alias for Digital ID, you have nothing to worry about. Again, no time frame given. This is happening to parents in the final weeks of the summer break where school returning brings with it concerns about schoolyard incidents, contagious illnesses and more.

What we have here is a clear cut case of Nudge unit involvement in the coercion and forced adoption of the EU Digital ID. This brings us to the moral of this story. The call to action. I increasingly feel the need to distance myself from using the language of right and left but I have to speak to the left in particular. The “far right” movement in Ireland is in no condition to win a battle against digital ID, never mind the war. The Left is. The wild fire that erupted from the right over immigration and freedom of expression is no longer a roaring blaze. Half of the right has prostituted itself to foreign interest focus groups. The other half is not even that right wing at all, simply wanting to challenge the perceived social ills in front of them. We have recently seen people from all walks of life come together to fight tooth and nail for marginal fuel tax differences that have already been made irrelevant by war-flation. The low information voter, who remains unsubscribed to sophisticated political philosophy, can and will rise if Digital ID is challenged in a popular fashion. The ability to organise the general public on Digital ID rests with the left. I am not talking about Sinn Féin either. I am talking about the likes of the 15 people who took a vote of conscience within PBP and the many socialist micro-groups that have shown readiness to challenge Digital ID. Ireland and the wider European political swamp needs a version of the left right now that takes ownership once more of the civil liberties baton, and walks away from the comforts that liberal appeasement gives them.

The EU intends to take technocracy to new heights and this can be seen with the new law requiring newly registered vehicles to have a cabin camera installed that watches your eyes, head position, and gaze direction. It is clear they have no self restraint. With every successful “temporary” measure they get across the line, the more permanent and assured their trajectory becomes. Digital ID will become a rod for our own backs in the hands of Ursula Von Der Leyen, The Zionist backed Palantir project, prevalence of flock cameras and a divided public. Digital ID is not a matter of political ideology. It is a matter of public rights and private lives. It is a matter of free will and self determination. It is time the Communists act on the Marxist axioms about State sponsored surveillance. State Surveillance conducted by a corporate-dominated State in particular, serves to tyrannise and discipline the propertyless worker, of which there are now many.
