Family of Jailed Activist Fergie Chambers Rallies Global Support to Block Spanish Extradition to US
The family of jailed anti-war philanthropist Fergie Chambers has launched an urgent international campaign calling on supporters to pressure Spanish embassies worldwide, following his transfer to a maximum-security prison in Madrid today.
The family of jailed anti-war philanthropist Fergie Chambers has launched an urgent international campaign calling on supporters to pressure Spanish embassies worldwide, following his transfer to a maximum-security prison in Madrid today.
The mobilisation aims to force the Spanish government to reject a US extradition request that could see Chambers jailed for up to 30 years. The Trump administration is seeking Chambers on politically fabricated counterterrorism charges after he divested his inheritance to fund Palestinian humanitarian aid and left-wing legal defence funds.
By transferring Chambers to a high-security facility, Spanish authorities have signalled their willingness to comply with Washington’s crackdown on anti-war dissent. Because Spanish law gives the Council of Ministers the ultimate executive power to block any extradition, Chambers’ family is urging working-class communities and solidarity groups to target Spanish diplomatic missions directly to make the political cost of collaboration too high for Madrid to ignore.
Take Action Now
The Spanish government is currently deciding whether to hand an anti-war activist over to a hostile US regime. We must act immediately to stop them.
How to take part in the campaign:
- Email your Spanish embassy: The embassy in Dublin can be reached at emb.dublin@maec.es.
- Send an Urgent Demand: Email the Ambassador. Demand that Minister of Justice Félix Bolaños and President Pedro Sánchez immediately block the US extradition request and release Fergie Chambers.
