The Gibson Hotel in Dublin is set to host a company founded by Unit 8200 Israeli soldiers on August 25th, leading to backlash and a campaign by Your Tech Their Deaths in opposition.
The company, called Checkpoint, was founded by Gil Shwed, Marius Nacht and Shlomo Kramer from Israel’s notorious spy unit, known for their active participation in genocide, war crimes and the oppression of the Palestinian people. Its CEO is Nadav Zafrir, who served as a commander in the genocidal army. The company is already used by Irish state agencies, including the HSE, An Post, the ESB and the DPP.
After these revelations, the company’s portfolio in Ireland tanked, which, campaigners say, the Gibson Hotel is now trying to reverse by whitewashing their image.
After a technofascist event by the secretive company Dialog was similarly cancelled by Powerscourt Hotel after pressure in July 2026, the campaign organisers are calling on people to jam the phone lines of the Gibson Hotel (01-681 5000), let them know on the socials (@thegibsonhotel on Instagram, The Gibson Hotel on Facebook) and fill the inboxes of the hotel managers (gmarrinan@thegibsonhotel.ie , Bwitherspoon@thegibsonhotel.ie and Anemeth@thegibsonhotel.ie).
In June 2026, Aontacht Media reported that AIB is considering partnering with Synk, another tech company founded by Unit 8200 Israeli soldiers, leading to revelations that IDF militants run rampant in Ireland’s technology sector.
