Damian Flood, the landlord of the home CATU member Tina rented in Wicklow Town, shamefully [threw away](https://aontachtmedia.ie/catu-demands-wicklow-town-landlord-and-business-owner-return-tenants-remaining-possessions/) a tenant’s belongings.

After public pressure managed to salvage some items, CATU Wicklow is now demanding that the landlord compensate the tenant for what was lost, and also pay for the transportation costs from the storage unit in which the landlord placed the remaining items.

Tina resided at the property for many years, though the house was in extremely poor condition she continued to pay rent until her health declined as a result of those conditions. While she then had to go through serious lung surgery and recovery, the house became uninhabitable due to a major unrepaired leak coming through the ceilings.

The landlord at no time addressed or fixed the long-standing many faults & issues with the property, leaving his tenant in deplorable conditions forcing her to have to eventually leave. The landlord has also failed to afford his tenant any suitable, civil, reasonable or realistic opportunity to retrieve her belongings since

“Tina has been fighting to retrieve her belongings after a change of landlords has left her items disposed of, while she was in London caring for sick family, “ CATU Wicklow [stated](https://www.instagram.com/p/DfEl0SikRv%5F/?ref=aontachtmedia.ie) in a new social media post on the matter.

The landlord “ignored repeated requests for a full inventory, photographs, and answers about what was salvaged and what was shamefully thrown away, “ they continued.

“Thankfully through some pressure, Tina has been shown what remains. We are now arranging for those items to be moved to a storage unit and the cost of delivery must be covered by the landlord who has disposed and moved Tina's very personal belongings without her consent, “ they explained.

CATU Wicklow is demanding:

\- Full written inventory of what was salvaged

\- Photographs of the items and their condition

\- Compensation for what was lost

\- The landlord covers all delivery and storage costs
