The 18-year old Derry man who was charged with supporting a proscribed “terrorist” organisation by the Stormont regime has now been jailed for breaching his curfew conditions as he was en route to Garvaghy Road.

Christopher Dillon faces one charge of wearing a T-shirt on July 12th this year in Derry, with the INLA logo on it, which prosecutors claim indicates that he supported or was a member of a proscribed organisation this year.

As part of his bail conditions, he was forbidden from travelling within 100 meters of any protest or police operation, and he was instructed to follow a strict 8pm to 6am curfew. His court case is still ongoing, and has seen [protests in solidarity with him](https://aontachtmedia.ie/crowd-gathers-as-18-year-old-in-court-over-patsy-ohara-shirt/) and against the Stormont regime’s political policing of nationalist communities. The strictness of the curfew itself reveals how the courts, the PSNI and the occupation regime seek to clamp down on republican activists, they say.

He has now been jailed by the Stormont regime for breaching his curfew, as he was stopped by PSNI en route to Garvaghy Road on September 27th. He, like many other republicans across the country, was travelling there to [show his solidarity](https://aontachtmedia.ie/aia-deface-orange-order-plaque-on-dawson-street/) to the minority nationalist community in Portadown.

A judge refused him bail and sent him off to jail pending his next court date. Republican activists have said that this represents an act of internment - political prisoners being held behind bars for extended durations without being convicted of a crime - and have called on all like-minded people to call for his immediate release.

“From our perspective, these charges and subsequent bail conditions represent a deliberate attempt to criminalise young republican socialist activists, and, more broadly, to place restrictions on our movement, our history and our right to express solidarity with our communities, “ the Republican Socialist Youth Movement (RSYM) said in a [statement](https://www.instagram.com/p/Dd7ZrA1jKH8/?ref=aontachtmedia.ie), adding that “those who claim solidarity with him now have a responsibility to demonstrate it”.

The Orange Order have been granted permission to march down the Garvaghy Road for the first time since 1997 following a stunning u-turn by the Parades Commission, a decision which is staunchly opposed by the nationalist residents of the area. The residents have been successfully blocking the road all week to prevent the march from going ahead, while the colonial Orange Order insists on taking what they call the "historical" route through the road.
