Derryman Christopher ‘Crippy’ Dillon has been re-released on bail after being remanded into custody for breaking strict bail conditions set by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Republican Socialist Youth Movement (RSYM) [has announced](https://www.instagram.com/p/Dee3a4diCk7/?ref=aontachtmedia.ie).

The 18-year-old was [interned by Crown Forces](https://aontachtmedia.ie/18-year-old-charged-with-wearing-patsy-ohara-shirt-jailed-by-crown-forces/) on Sunday 27 September while en route to the Garvaghy Road to show his support for Portadown’s Nationalist community. This was in violation of his bail conditions, which included the observation of a night curfew and the requirement to remain a hundred metres away from any police operation, parade or protest.

Dillon was [originally charged](https://aontachtmedia.ie/crowd-gathers-as-18-year-old-in-court-over-patsy-ohara-shirt/) in July 2026 for wearing a commemorative Patsy O’Hara t-shirt that bore the logo of the Irish National Liberation Army (INLA), an organisation proscribed by Westminster.

His release comes roughly a week after the RSYM launched [a fiery protest](https://aontachtmedia.ie/rsym-derry-activists-scale-crane-in-protest-of-18-year-old-imprisoned-over-patsy-ohara-shirt/) in defence of the people of the Six Counties’ right to freedom of expression and political association.
